The Buujan Quiinbiira (Boo-jun quin bee-rr-ar) walk starts near Wallaman Falls in Girringun National Park. Wallaman Falls is the largest single-drop waterfall in Australia, tumbling 265 metres through a rainbow-fringed cloud of mist into a large pool. Before setting out on the walk, take a moment to stand at the lookout (near the carpark) and gaze at the majestic white water dropping between sheer cliffs.
On the first day of the walk (23.3 kilometres), you follow an old forestry track through a range of landscapes including she-oak dominated country, open forest and rainforest. You will pass an old forestry camp, Garrawalt Creek and Flagstone Creek before reaching the Pack Trail campsite. Day two of the walk (14.2 kilometres) begins by following part of the historic Dalrymple Track. From the Yamanie turn-off enjoy a pleasant walk through open forest along the high banks of the Herbert River to the Yamanie pick-up point.
