Live music and evening entertainment is plentiful on Magnetic Island with terrific local talent ranging from rock to reggae.

Down at Maggies Beachhouse on a Sunday afternoon between 5.00 p.m. and 8.00p.m., you can relax and listen to the laid back 'Island style' tunes or if rock is more your scene, then head down the Arcadia's Island tavern on a Friday or Saturday night.

Also 8.00 p.m. every Wednesday night the world famous Bufonidaes (cane toads) races are held at the Island Tavern. The event is hosted by 'Vern the Toad Master' and although it may seem a little daunting and may not be for the faint hearted, it is great family fun and definitely a night to remember.

The idea of toad racing is simple. All the toads are placed in a plastic container in the centre of a circle, and then the container is removed: the first toad to go outside the circle is the winner - a great laugh.
