ThuringowaRivers, rainforests, mountains and beaches?.
The city of Thuringowa lies adjacent to Townsville city, and although the urban sprawl makes the two blend seamlessly into one, the visitor experience is quite different. Thuringowa is a growing, urban centre surrounded by beaches, rivers, rainforest pockets, rural expanse and mountainous regions. The city centre is a modern hub offering restaurants, cinemas, shopping centres, business and medical services, parks and recreational facilities. The residential areas of Thuringowa begin in this central business district and continue north through the Northern Beaches district ? which the locals share with day visitors, campers, caravan and motorhome travellers. The Northern Beaches region extends from Bushland Beach and Bluewater to Balgal Beach, Saunders Beach and Rollingstone with long stretches of clean beachfront framed by natural bushlands. For nature enthusiasts and ‘eco-tourists’, Thuringowa offers a feast of natural and diverse environments, flora, fauna and eco-friendly, sustainable recreational activities.
